The Sigma AF 70mm F2.8 EX DG Macro (not the new ART) macro was legendary in its time, and the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG is very good too. Either could be a good budget choice for use on an adapter (you probably should look for the Canon mount version) if you only need 1:1 and AF appeals.
Adult Cedar Waxwing ( Bombycilla cedrorum) ( Purchase) The 100-400mm weighs in at 1380g (48.7 oz) which is not insignificant when hand holding. The 70-200mm f/4 IS lens weighs 760g (26.8 oz). As a consequence, the addition of the 100-400mm to my bag has increased the weight, even when the 70-200mm doesnโt come along.
The Canon EF 100mm f/2 USM Lens is a very sharp lens. I found the 100 f/2 to be sharp at f/2 and only improves slightly when stopped down. Well, all lenses become less sharp somewhere around and beyond f/16 because of diffraction. Corner sharpness is good as well. The 100 f/2's maximum magnification is a meager .14x at 3' (.9m).
The Canon 100-300mm ฦ/4.5-5.6 is available now, with an average retail price of around $270. The 100-300mm shows its best performance with regard to sharpness at the wider end of its focal range
This Canon 100mm is less expensive than any of the Nikon 105mm Micro (Macro) lenses, and it works better than either, too. It's easy to use and works great. This Canon macro doesn't have image stabilization. This isn't a problem, since I and most people shoot serious macro shots with flash or studio strobes.
SLRgear Review. November 2, 2009. by Andrew Alexander. An update to its previous 100mm f/2.8 macro, the Canon EF 100mm ฦ/2.8L Macro IS USM is one of three standard Canon full-frame macro lenses
Canon's full-frame mirrorless RF system keeps on growing, and today sees the addition of two much-requested new lenses. The RF 70-200mm F4 L IS USM is a compact, more affordable alternative to the previously-announced RF 70-200mm F2.8, and the RF 50mm F1.8 STM is a low-cost standard prime for photographers that don't need F1.2 (i.e. most
Limited close focus ability. Heavy. The Canon EF 200mm f/2L IS USM ($5,999 direct) ($5,699.00 at Amazon) is an incredibly sharp, and incredibly expensive, telephoto lens for Canon D-SLR cameras
