You can play either first or second, but, in my opinion, The Hidden Ones is a fucking amazing bookend to Origins and should be played as such. Curse of the Pharaohs is a fun adventure, but not a great way to end Ive enjoyed it, it feels like a bunch of side quests that make up the main story line but mixing in the DLCs throughout the game kept it fresh. All I have left (story wise) is The Last Chapter and then some random artifacts and world events to do.
